Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
  • Building maintenance professional specializing in Carpentry. This position is responsible for installation and maintenance of framing, drywall, doors, locksets, hinges, closers, hardware, casework, windows, ceiling grid, ceiling tile and associated systems to operate hospital physical plant, along with general building maintenance.

 
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, maintain, and repair carpentry related items
    • Framing
    • Wall Blocking
    • Drywall
    • Doors
    • Locksets
    • Hinges
    • Closers
    • Hardware
    • Casework
    • Windows
    • Ceiling grid & tile
  • Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with work specifications, codes and regulations
  • Plan installations by reading blueprints and schematics
  • Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe
  • Maintain adequate inventory of carpentry supplies, tools, and parts
  • Coordinate work order lists with Engineering Supervisor
  • Coordinate with Construction Supervisor for scheduling and completion of in-house construction projects
  • Timely input data and time into the maintenance work order system
  • Compliance with all Riverview Health and Engineering Department policies and procedures
  • Availability to assist Engineering staff by telephone or call-in
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Level of Education
    •  
    • Minimum:

      • High School Diploma or GED Certificate

      • Graduate of trade school or Journeyman Carpenters License

    • Preferred: Licensed Journeyman Carpenter with Door & Hardware Experience

 

Level of Experience

 

    • Minimum: 3+ years commercial experience
    • Preferred: 5+ years of commercial or institutional experience

State Issued License - Yes

CPR - N/A

ACLS - N/A

PALS - N/A

Specialty - Driver's license

Type of Specialty Certification or other Licensure, if required:

  • Completion of carpenter apprenticeship and journeyman license
